Case study: chemicals

A chemicals company with nine manufacturing locations throughout the world wished to review its global BI exposures, in order to obtain a more tailored policy that would reflect its risk profile and enable it to withstand losses.
The client appointed Marsh to assess its potential risks in terms of possible financial impact, supplier dependency and the global interdependencies of the businesses at its manufacturing locations.
After acquiring and analysing the relevant information, we made recommendations on how the client's business interruption cover should be placed in the market and appropriate sums insured.
The result was that the policy was more tailored to provide the protection the client needed. The client also achieved a premium saving of £30,000 on its cover due to our review.
