Case study: global information provider

A global information provider was concerned about the cost of its insurance coverage.
Marsh was asked to evaluate the firm's ability to retain risk, and to identify opportunities to reduce costs, including a possible closure of the firm's captive. A risk retention study determined the appropriate level of retention for the business and a detailed captive review was conducted.
The project achieved significant savings on Directors' and Officers', Property and Liability premiums, as well as identifying the potential to release several million pounds of capital from the captive, a vital cash source that could be injected back into the business.
